東欧、個人的なイメージでは何処と無く寂れた都市って感じがある。
なんでそうなのかはよくわかんないけど、ソビエトとかユーゴスラビアとか、
所謂東側の世界ってなんか暗いイメージ。
4年前に東欧回った時は首都間ばっか回ったから、余計にそんな印象だったな。
もちろん未だにそんな印象を受ける都市もあるんだけど、ここオフリドは異なる。
街の雰囲気とか人の感じとかは大都市とそこまで変わらないが、
決定的に違うのはここにはオフリド湖と言う美しい湖があるということだ。
In east Europe, I feel like I’m in some deserted city.
I don’t really know why, but it somehow feel dark for some east European countries,
like old Soviet or Yugoslavia.
I felt it more when I traveled around east Europe 4 years ago because I only visited
capitols of each country.
Of course some cities still make me feel like so, but it’s not in here Ohrid.
The atmosphere of city and people are not so much different from urban cities,
but the difference is that here’s a beautiful lake called Lake Ohrid.
泊まっているアパートから湖までは徒歩5分。
透き通った綺麗な水を求め、白鳥もどこからかやって来るほど。
当然魚も大量に泳いでいる。
桟橋の下を見たら魚だらけで驚いた。ドクターフィッシュがいっぱい入ってる水槽みたいだ。
It’s about 5 minutes by walk from our apartment to the lake.
Even some swans come from somewhere for its clear water.
Of course there’re many fishes swimming.
I was surprised when I looked under the pier because of too many fishes.
It’s like an aquarium of doctor fish.
こんな美しい湖がある場所に、その地に住んでいるかのように滞在できるなんて
最高だね(宿がワンルームアパートだから)
お昼は地元の人が行くレストランで、そして夜はスーパーで食材買って自炊して食べる贅沢。
あぁ、キッチン付きの部屋っていいね。
This is awesome that we can stay here, where there’s a beautiful lake,
as if we have been staying here for a long time
(because we’re staying at apartment now)
At lunch time we go to local restaurant. At night we buy some foods at local
supermarket and cook dinner by ourselves. What a rich life it is!

オフリド湖も美しいし、観光名所の教会や要塞跡を歩いてまわるのも楽しいんだけど、
それ以外に是非行って欲しいオススメの場所がある。
バスかタクシーを使う必要があり、バスは街の中心地(グリーンマーケット近くのメインロード
の交差点)から1日4〜5本ほど出ており、片道110ディナール(約220円)。
僕らはバスを待ってたらシェアタクシーの運転手から声を掛けられ、
バスと同じ値段で行ってくれると言うのでそっちで行った。
タクシーだと結構飛ばすので30分弱で着く。
Lake Ohrid is beautiful and walking around some touristic places (like churches and
fort) is of course fun, but there’s an another place where you should visit.
You need to take bus or taxi to there. You can take a bus from the center of the city.
Bus runs 4~5 times a day. The fare is 110 dinar.
アルバニアとの国境のすぐそばにあり、ここで有名なのは修道院跡らしい。
オフリド湖沿いなので当然ここから見る湖も綺麗なのだが、
ここで見るべきはオフリド湖そのものではない。
オフリド湖に流れる水の源(多分)を、ぜひぜひ見て欲しい。
オフリド湖も綺麗だけど、それより遥かに綺麗で透き通っている泉を見る事が出来る。
ボートツアーもあるけど、周りを歩くだけでも十分楽しめる美しさだ。
奥の方へ行くと建物の中に水が流れる丸い穴がある小さな教会もあり、そこもオススメ。
ちなみにクジャクもいるが、たまに攻撃されるっぽい注意書きがあったので注意(笑)
宿の管理人がメッチャオススメしてきた理由がわかったよ。ここはほんとにヤバい。
わざわざバス(タクシー)に乗ってきて良かった。
This place is close to the border of Albania and famous for old monastery.
As it lies besides Lake Ohrid, it’s also beautiful to see the lake from here.
However, you should see the source of water of Lake Ohrid, not the lake itself.
You can see the beautiful fountain (of course lake ohrid is also beautiful though)
There’s a boat tour but you don’t need it to enjoy the place.
If you walk inside, you can find a small church with water halls inside.
There’re some peacocks but be careful of them. I saw the sign saying that
sometimes these peacocks attack you.
Well I got why the owner of apartment recommend this place. It’s awesome here.
I’m so glad to come here by taking taxi.
ちなみに帰りは普通に路線バスに乗って帰ったよ。
1時間ぐらい待ったけどね(本数少なそうなので注意。
事前にバスの運転手か近くのカフェの人に帰りのバスの時間聞いておいた方が良いと思う)
本当に美しい水が見られるので、是非是非オフリド旧市街だけでなく
こっちにも足を運んで見て欲しい。
On our way back we took a local bus because we couldn’t find a taxi.
We waited about 1 hour to get on (You should ask the bus time in advance)
You can find beautiful water here so why don’t you come to this place too,
not only the city of Ohrid?
